What is the issue?

The issue is that farmers in America have been feeding their chickens contaminated pet food from China. The NCC (National Chicken Council) have been running tests and noticed that people who eat this chicken are appearing to remain healthy. FDA officials reported that 6,000 hogs that have been fed the contaminated food has entered the human food supply. Because of this, they have detained all vegetable protein products that are used in both animal and human food that are bought in China for safety.

Who is involved?

NCC- The association that discovered this issue.
Farmers- The people who fed the animals the contaminated food.
FDA- Detained all vegetable protein products bought from China.
China- Sold the contaminated food products.

Who is affected and how?

The farmers are affected because of the proof the NCC has given, they can feed their chicken the contaminated food. The people are affected because they have to worry about eating the chicken. FDA is affected because it is their job to make sure people are eating “clean” food. China is also affected because their selling of vegetable protein products has been detained.

What would I do if I was directly involved?

If I was involved, I would do furthur research to see if the food has any negative side effects on the human diet. I would also encourage the halting of the selling of vegetable protein products in China until more information about the food has been discovered.
